All a student requires to be able to enroll into Tutor STEM's online tutoring program is: a computer (or a laptop) and an internet connection. The assigned teacher will either host a video conference via webcam or host a telephone call via cell phone with the student in order to verbally communicate with one another. The assigned teacher will also use an interactive whiteboard online to interact with the student. The interactive whiteboard allows for the student to view what the teacher writes on the whiteboard, and allows the teacher to view what the student writes on the whiteboard.

The teaching is 1 on 1. There is one student per one teacher.
