PCAT Prep for Pharmacy School
What is the PCAT?
The PCAT is the Pharmacy College Admissions Test. The PCAT is an 4 hour computer-based exam that tests biological and chemical sciences, verbal ability, reading comprehension, quantitative ability, and writing skills. Almost every Canadian, American, Caribbean, and Australian pharmacy school require individuals to complete the PCAT for admission consideration. Admission officers, whom are the people who decide whether you get into pharmacy school or not, use the PCAT as a predictor of your success in pharmacy school. The PCAT exam has the reputation of being one of the most difficult standardized tests one can attempt. Most pharmacy schools, especially the ones in Canada, set a minimum cut-off PCAT score that the applicant must meet in order to be considered.
What does the PCAT consist of?
The PCAT consists of 5 sections:
1) Biological Sciences
- Covers general and intermediate levels of biology and advanced levels of human biology
2) Physical Sciences (Chemistry)
- Covers advanced levels of organic and inorganic chemistry
3) Verbal Ability
- Covers ability to recognize, analyze, and debrief key information in scholarly text
4) Quantitative Ability
- Covers general and intermediate levels of advanced functions and mathematics, and advanced levels of calculus
5) Writing
- Covers ability to effectively analyze and summarize a medical document and properly restructure the topics of a drafted lab report into fragmented sentences
What is the chance of getting into a Pharmacy School?
To be frank, the chances of getting into pharmacy school are slim (however easier than getting into medical or dental school). How many people per a class?

Where are the classes?
In-person: Sessions between you and the PCAT instructor will take place either at the academy, or at any other place that is accessible and convenient for you ie: your university or home.
Webcam: Sessions between you and the PCAT instructor will take place online via webcam. You and the instructor will connect online using Tutor STEM's webcam communication platform at an agreed time and commence the tutoring session as if you were present in the academy. This option is beneficial to students across Canada and the United States who are unable to commute to the academy.
